At the University of Vienna, Department of Meteorology and Geophysics, Research Group of Theoretical Meteorology the position of an
Atmospheric transport / inverse modelling scientist
is vacant. Expected starting date: 1 February 2013 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The person selected will mainly contribute to the development and testing of inverse modelling algorithms and software for source terms in the case of nuclear accidents, in the framework of a large international project. See http://www.atmos-chem-phys.net/12/2313/2012/ for an introduc-

University degree (preferably Ph.D; diploma or Master graduates will be considered if they have the required knowledge and skills) in meteorology, physics , applied mathematics or a related field. Experience with dispersion modelling, environmental radioactivity, nuclear accidents is highly desired. Excellent programming skills (Fortran) and Linux command line / scripting ex perience are essential. Ability to work in a team and good knowledge of English, orally and written, is required.
